Inputs are set on the Simulator page. This page reads the current scenario; the scenario buttons above switch presets here too.

Does the model agree with what can be observed?

Benchmarks that exist independently of the model, against what the model produces with no target set.

Every constant, its status and its source

Statutory values are taken from the instrument or the Sanhitas. Empirical values are cited. Assumed values are the author's and carry a range; the stress-test button moves each assumed constant by its plausible half-range in the unfavourable direction, and the headline range on the Simulator shows both directions.

Model limits: band midpoints stand in for the band range; Rule 11 overrides and Rule 14 totality are not modelled; the status-quo plea sentence follows BNSS s.293 as enacted; s.138 NI Act is compoundable and quasi-criminal and is treated like an ordinary offence here; the quintile table follows Form I-A (above 2 to 4, and so on) rather than the integer table in Rule 9, which is a known drafting defect; where a minimum sentence exists (s.80(2)), the Item A3 ceiling and BNSS s.293(d) both allow a plea sentence below the minimum, which Rule 8(1) of the Guidelines does not, and the instrument should say which prevails; Item B3 makes the plea offer jump from the discounted sentence to the full indicative sentence at a Final Score of 8, so a half-point of scoring at that margin changes the offer severalfold; Rule 8(3) in the body says life is not to be converted to a term while the Form note deems it 20 years, and the model follows the Form so that a number exists.
